Core Function

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Execution: Runs bi-weekly staff payroll and monthly AFC payroll using CheckWriters. This includes labor allocations and ensuring all wage/hour law compliance.
  • Maintains: Check log, employee data, compensation, deduction updates.
  • Process: Bi-weekly 403(b) and quarterly pension deposits.
  • Prepares: Journal entries to be posted to the general ledger.
  • Reconciliation: Handles fringe benefit monthly, quarterly 941, position control, time off accruals, and other reporting requirements.
  • Year-End Compliance: Handles high-stakes reporting including W-2s, ACA (Affordable Care Act) filings, and insurance renewals.
  • Data Integrity: Archives digital payroll reports for audit readiness. 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 3 years of payroll experience 
  • Software Stack: Priority is placed on CheckWriters and Abila MIP, alongside the Excel requirements.
  • Education:  Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • Aptitude: High mathematical accuracy and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee salary data.
