
Nutrition Center Coordinator & Clerical Assistant- Dudley

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM - 30 hours per week. The basic function of the Nutrition Center Coordinator/Clerical Assistant is to be responsible for the day-to-day operation of meal site and supervision of volunteers. The Nutrition Center Coordinator/Clerical Assistant also provides administrative functions related to the Agency’s Nutrition Program and back-up for the Nutrition Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise home delivered meals. Recruit drivers and arrange routes. Sign and verify volunteer mileage sheets monthly. Maintain a list of driver substitutes and a driver schedule. Follow up on reports of issues or concerns regarding MOW consumers. Implement emergency procedures when necessary.
- Oversees and performs kitchen duties required from time of receiving meals to packaging of meals. This responsibility requires lifting to 40 pounds.
- Report complaints, incidents, errors, discrepancies, or inadequacies of food service and disposables, including poor temperatures and equipment failures.
- Order meals and monitor daily meal waste. Order supplies and maintain inventory.
- Establish sufficient substitute coordinator coverage and provide training.
- Recruit, train, and supervise, and schedule volunteers.
- Deliver HDM route when driver and substitute are unavailable.
- When scheduled, takes daily meal counts from Nutrition sites by phone and email. Sends daily meal order to caterer by email when covering for Nutrition Administrative Assistant.
- Submit routine paperwork and complete weekly, monthly, and year-to-date reports for Coordinators within specified time frames.
- Maintain record keeping system including participant intakes, volunteer sign-in sheets, supply order forms and route sheets, volunteer registration forms and CORI forms.
- Covers receptionist duties as scheduled.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Nutrition Director.
Essential Functions/Qualifications:
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access, email.
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to multitask and use critical thinking.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Effective and professional communication with consumers, employees, physicians, family members, providers (telephone, email, or in person, as needed).
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit for periods of time at computer.
- Must be able to carry or push items up to 40 pounds.
